I absolutely love to sew; I want to inspire creativity. I started sewing children’s aprons because I wanted to restore femininity, to bring back the joy of cooking and baking! I wanted my children to be delighted in what they can create through a recipe.
I want to help moms make beautiful memories and motivate children to help in the kitchen.
Here are some of the ways I’ve been intentional to make memories to last a lifetime.
- Play music.
- Smile big.
- It’s OK to make a mess and enjoy cleaning up, it’s time well spent together in conversation or just blasting the music. {I’ve had to think of ways to motivate us.}
- Dance and have fun with your children.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
- 1 3/4 {210 g} all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup {113 g} butter
- 1/2 cup {99 g} granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup {54 g} brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or 1/4 teaspoon table salt)
- 1 cup {170 g} semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. (about 175 C.)
2. Microwave the butter for about 40 seconds. Butter should be completely melted but shouldn’t be hot.
3. In a large bowl, mix butter with sugar until well-combined.
4. Stir in vanilla and egg until incorporated.
5. Add the flour, baking soda and salt. {for a soft cookie please read note about measuring flour}
6. Mix dough until just combined. Dough should be soft and a little sticky but not overly sticky.
7. Stir in chocolate chips.
8. Scoop out 1.5 tablespoons of dough {medium cookie scoop} and place on baking sheet.
9. Bake for 7-10 minutes, or until cookies are set. They will look puffy and still a little under baked in the middle.
Notes
Be sure to fluff and then scoop and sweep to measure the flour. Too much flour will result in a dry or crumbly cookie. Don’t over bake cookies. Oven temperatures can vary. Start with the least time listed.
